The first video presented is our own Simple Recipe to Make
Tomato Sauce. From this method, all you need to do to make
a thick ketchup is boil this tomato sauce down some more until it
is thicker.
This method is super simple and comes from my Romanian mother-in-law,
where they have been doing it this way for decades. I like this
method because it cooks in a lot of the flavor that a processor
wouldn't catch. It's easy to pulverize a tomato down to juice, but
this method simmers and cooks in the natural tomato flavors.
Below: This guy's British accent is very pleasant,
and I'm sure he could describe anything and make it sound wonderful.
He's using grape size "toe mah toes", which you can replace
them with roma or other paste tomatoes. He also states that he's
starting out with 3 kilos, which is approximately 7 pounds in American.
It does look like takes the seeds out, but I guess they are ground
up in the blender.
Below: Here is another recipe that uses real tomatoes,
and not a recipe involving a can. We're only interested in making
ketchup or sauces from scratch, using real tomatoes. The recipe
below involves a lot more ingredients and preperation.
